Benton Economic Partnership Hires Executive Director

The newly formed Benton Economic Partnership is pleased to announce the hiring of John Uphoff as the organization’s first Executive Director. Mr. Uphoff will begin his duties on September 26th. Prior to joining the BEP, Mr. Uphoff worked as an economic development consultant with WSB & Associates, helping cities and economic development authorities create strategic plans, marketing strategies, business retention and expansion programs and business incentives. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Planning and Community Development from St. Cloud State University.

The Benton Economic Partnership was formed to lead economic development efforts throughout Benton County. Its membership includes businesses, Chambers of Commerce, school districts, cities, townships and the county. The BEP is led by a nine-member Board of Directors, six representing the business community. The current BEP Board President is John Herges, CEO of Falcon National Bank. Mr. Uphoff will work closely with the BEP Board and BEP members to develop the organization’s strategic plan and goals in the coming months.
