On July 21st the Benton Economic Partnership formally launched a new chapter in economic development for Benton County. That morning at Jack and Jim’s Event Center in Duelm, the BEP held its first formal meeting of members and selected the Board of Directors. The Board then held an organizational meeting and selected its officers.
The newly formed Benton Economic Partnership is pleased to announce the hiring of John Uphoff as the organization’s first Executive Director. Mr. Uphoff will begin his duties on September 26th. Prior to joining the BEP, Mr. Uphoff worked as an economic development consultant with WSB & Associates, helping cities and economic development authorities create strategic plans, marketing strategies, business retention and expansion programs and business incentives.
The Executive Director will lead the Board of Directors through the creation of short-range and long-range plans that will guide the work of the Partnership. The Executive Director will be a hands-on economic development professional who will carry out the direction of the Board of Directors to the benefit of all businesses, cities and townships in Benton County.
